Windstar
Sailing Cruises
Sailing under the banner of its appropriate catch phrase 180 degrees
from ordinary, Windstar offers a luxury on-board product and superb
signature cuisine by renowned L.A. chef Joachim Splichal, yet with
a casual, intimate ambiance and dress code.
In keeping with the ship ambiance,
Windstar guests leave their ties and formal wear at home. By day,
shorts and light shirts are the norm. For dinner and later in
the evening, women typically wear casual sun dresses or pant suits,
and men can be found in a pair of light-weight slacks and a polo
or button-up shirt. Dinner is served with
one open seating. An award-winning line, Windstar’s
three sail cruise ships ply uncommon, small-ship destinations,
including Costa Rica, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Panama Canal,
Virgin Islands, Greek and Turkish Isles, French and Italian Rivieras,
Italy’s Amalfi coast, and the Windward Islands from Barbados.
Wind Star Fleet
As
you first put your feet on the Wind Star, you feel the unusual
sensation of being on something different that a regular cruise
ship. Part of this feeling is due to the four huge masts always
towering over your head as you move on the spacious wooden deck.
ore like a luxury yacht, for sure, which could be taken as an
easy sample, but the size of a real ship makes you feel more confortable,
or if you like, safer. For those who don't
mind the narrow confines of the Wind Star, here's what they can
expect to get out of a cruise on her, gentle service, excellent
food, interesting fellow travelers, cozy but complete accommodations.
And itineraries that can't be beat. Windstar is a line to consider
if you are a traveler who appreciates the good things in life,
but wants it all in a casual atmosphere.
Wind Spirit Imagine
floating on gentle, pathless seas under white billowing sails.
Nothing else compares to a Windstar luxury sailing yacht.
And now you have three to choose from. Virtually identical,
Wind Star, Wind Surf and Wind Spirit were created to provide
a unique cruising experience for 148 discriminating passengers.
Each room has two portholes, and twin
beds that convert to a queen...... and all have a TV/VCR,
CD player, a safe, and a minibar stuffed with water, juice
and wine. The cabins have tons of storage space...you'll find
more drawers and cupboards than on other ships. Every single
cabin except the coveted number 107 are identical and they
all have the same price for any cruise. Cabin 107, with roughly
50% more space, carries a surcharge of 30% above the standard
cruise rate.

allows us to expand the Windstar experience to include magnificent
suites, a second restaurant, elegant meeting rooms, and a
glorious WindSpa. Onboard, her crew of 163 for just 312 guests
extends spontaneous, gracious service. She
is one of a new breed of ship that combines computer assisted
sail power with a more traditional power plant. She is surprisingly
spacious for such a small vessel and the service and her ability
to get into smaller ports of call make the trip a very pleasant
and unusual experience.

This is the ideal way to experience
the Caribbean, Mediterranean or South Pacific. Sail to the
next island on the horizon, drop anchor in quiet coves to
snorkel, sailboard or swim. Sample the many cultures and charms
of the region each day, as each island is unlike the last.
From this point onward, things are going to be deliciously
different. Schedules are long forgotten. Demands cease to
exist. The only thing you need to answer to is the call of
the sea. She is large enough to hold your
attention. Yet small enough to harbor a quiet little corner
to call your own. Crisp sails angle against a sky, blue as
a dream. Teak decks warm the soles of your bare feet. A staff
member, gracious yet unobtrusive, seems to magically appear
with an ice-cold rum punch or an extra fluffy pillow just
as you've thought of it. A perfectly prepared salmon fillet
is whisked onto the linen cloth before you, followed by a
heavenly crème brulèe, You toast your mutual exquisite taste
in choosing this cruise, and each other. Carrying
just 148 to 308 guests, Windstar ships exude a private yacht-like
atmosphere creating camaraderie and lasting friendships between
fellow sailors. Every day aboard Windstar brings the promise
of new horizons and harbors to explore.
You are sailing into another incredible port
you’ve seen in travel books and magazines, only the breeze
on your skin tells you; it’s real. Windstar destinations are
sailing playgrounds, irresistible in every way, for the simple
reason that their aura of cool elegance and sportive privilege
never goes out of style. Embark at the Mayan Riviera’s newest
facility in Puerta Maya on the island of Cozumel. As the sun and wind meet on the sails of your
ship, you’ll smile as you realize you and only 308 guests
aboard the magnificent Wind Surf have shared an album’s worth
of memories. And it’s only day one. The
culturally curious will appreciate the visit to the fabled
Mayan ruins in Belize or Honduras. Imagine the ancient city
the Maya named Copan, or the site of the Spanish fortress
San Fernando in Omoa. Here verdant rain forests hide every
color of wild orchid, butterfly and bird. Coral-filled reefs
seduce with their astonishing shapes and colors. Our smaller ships built for 148-312 guests
will not only lead you to exotic ports of call,
but to uncharted levels of contentment.
Enjoy the casually elegant spirit, decadent
cuisine and award-winning service onboard a Windstar cruise. St. Thomas, St. John, St. Martin and Barbados are just a few of the destinations that Windstar Cruises visits in the beautiful Caribbean.
Somewhere between the deep-red clock tower of Ft. Christian in St. Thomas, the verdant green forests surrounding Grenada and the rainbow-hued orchids in the gardens of Nevis...an astonishing thought occurs: You have just discovered the color of happiness.
