Cunard Line If travel is meant
to be savored, then crossing the oceans should be a
majestic experience, not merely a hop across the pond.
For travelers of this persuasion,
only one name evokes the pleasures of a golden era:
Cunard Line. Proudly continuing
the tradition of luxury cruising that began in 1840,
Queen Mary 2 debuted in 2004 as the new flagship of
The Most Famous Ocean Liners in the World. As
the tallest, longest, largest and most expensive cruise
ship ever built, QM2 provides her guests with unprecedented
amenities and accommodations at every turn. Maintaining
the tradition of her Cunard and White Star Line predecessors,
Queen Mary 2 is the only ship offering regularly scheduled
transatlantic service. Take
your place in history aboard Queen Mary 2 as you sail
away from the stress and confusion of the modern world.
Aboard a ship that is a legend in her own time, the
whistle sounds and from that moment onwards there will
be only the romance of the sea and the promise of a
welcoming port. The best way to experience a Cunard
luxury cruise vacation is from your own private balcony.
Welcome to Queen Mary
2 - the grandest, most magnificent ocean liner ever
built. She's a true heir to the timeless elegance, legacy
and inspiration of the great Cunard liners of legend.
You'll notice it the moment you walk through her doors
into her soaring Grand Lobby, and be awed from the first
instance you experience the famous Cunard White Star
Service. Yet this sophisticated monarch also boasts
the most modern luxuries and amenities - from the pampering
services of the only Canyon Ranch SpaClub®
on the seas to the fascinating Cultural Enrichment Programme
led by prestigious experts. This regal royal must truly
be seen to be believed - come live the adventure.
Combining classic Cunard elegance with
a stylish, contemporary flair, Queen Mary 2's staterooms
and suites provide a lovely home base for seeing the
world. And with room for up to 2,592 guests, there's
something for everyone. Almost three quarters of her
rooms have a private balcony. Grill accommodation offer
more space and more amenities, from our comfortable
Princess Suites to glorious Duplex Apartments. Even
her interior staterooms provide trademark Cunard touches
-- tasteful decor, rich wood furnishings and details,
a mini-refrigerator, bathrobe and slippers, 24-hour
room service and nightly turndown service with chocolates.
The
Queen Elizabeth 2 is the most famous destination between
New York and London. Just imagine a floating palace
where the pleasures are unmatched. Where royalty, millionaires
and film stars have been known to stroll on gleaming
teak decks while savoring the earth's most dramatic
panoramas. Welcome aboard the one and only Queen Elizabeth
2. Queen Elizabeth 2
exudes an ageless glamour that appeals to seasoned voyagers
the world over. No wonder so many celebrities have revelled
in her ambience of relaxed sophistication and gracious
hospitality. Queen Elizabeth 2's staterooms and suites
are elegantly appointed, offering superb choice to suit
your individual desires. The range extends from the
more modest inside and outside Mauretania grade staterooms
to the ultra-deluxe Queens Grill Suites. Each category
is paired with a reserved table in one of five fabulous
ocean-view restaurants and provides trademark Cunard
touches, including tasteful decor, rich wood furnishings,
a mini refrigerator, complimentary 24-hour room service
and nightly turndown service with pillow chocolates.
Queen Elizabeth 2 also offers a full range of single
staterooms paired with each of the restaurants. Queen
Elizabeth 2 continues to set the standard of British
elegance with superb White Star Service and gourmet
cuisine. Sailing a definitive World Cruise and round-trip
Southampton voyages, QE2 endures as one of the greatest
liners of her time. The two Queens will be joined by
Queen Victoria in 2007. Step
back into the golden age of ocean travel, a time when
liners at sea were the embodiment of the good life.
The classic traditions of the grand ocean voyage are
very much alive, aboard the luxurious liners of Cunard
- the world famous Queen Elizabeth 2 and Queen Mary
2. This
is the Cunard legacy: timeless elegance, incomparable
service, intriguing destinations and, quite simply,
a more cultured experience. The legendary jewel in the
crown: Queen Elizabeth 2 and now Queen Mary 2. QM2 is
the largest, longest and widest passenger vessel ever
built. Wherever in the world your imagination leads
you, we have a ship that can take you there. Each has
its own unique spirit and personality, but all share
the legacy of a name that epitomizes luxury: Cunard.
At Cunard, we understand that

CUNARD LINE'S NEW
SHIP ‘QUEEN VICTORIA’ The 90,000-ton Queen
Victoria will offer the very best of the heritage and
traditions of Cunard Line, along with all modern day
luxuries including some exciting innovations. These
will include the first traditional West End-style private
boxes at sea in the Royal Court Theatre, the first Cunardia
museum exhibit at sea, housing Cunard artifacts and
memorabilia along with the first two-storey library
at sea featuring an elegant spiral staircase. The ship
will also feature the line's celebrated Queens Grill
and Princess Grill accommodations and dining, further
enhanced on Queen Victoria with an exclusive deck terrace
and an al fresco dining option. From the outside, her
distinctive black and red livery will hint at the sophistication
that differentiates a Cunard liner. This will be most
evident in the ship's adherence to liner traditions
of the past, with elegant public rooms, many on a grand
scale, featuring rich wood paneling, intricate mosaics
and gleaming chandeliers. There will also be a grand,
colonial-style conservatory complete with a retractable
glass roof.
As well as being the second largest
Cunarder ever built, Queen Victoria's arrival is particularly
noteworthy as it will mark the first time that three
Cunard Queens have been in service together in the company's
168-year history (she joins the world's grandest liner,
Queen Mary 2 and the world's most famous and best-loved
liner, QE2).
The 1,850-passenger
vessel will feature a covered wraparound promenade deck,
a forward-facing observation lounge, a large Lido pool
with a retractable magrodome, and ten of the twelve
passenger decks will be served by exterior glass-walled
lifts. Like QE2 and QM2, the liner will have a Queens
Grill, offering single-seating gourmet dining. Queen
Victoria will offer a wide range of accommodation, large
standard outside cabins (170 sq ft) and a high percentage
of balcony cabins (67%) -bringing new levels of luxury
and choice to the passenger. In
design terms she will have an undeniably British feel
with two British design teams being responsible for
her interiors. Pamela Conover, Cunard’s President and
Chief Operating Officer, says: “Cunard Line was founded
just after Queen Victoria came to the throne, and her
reign saw the company develop hugely in every sense.
Throughout her reign Cunard built more and even better
ships, we embraced radical new technology and we carried
more passengers in greater comfort. More.
Cunard to Build "Queen Elizabeth" -
New liner to enter service in 2010. Cunard
Line announces that it has ordered a new 92,000-ton
liner, to be named "Queen Elizabeth," scheduled
to enter service in the autumn of 2010. Cunard, a unit
of Carnival Corporation signed an agreement with Italian
shipbuilder Fincantieri for the construction of the
new 2092-passenger ocean liner, which will be built
at Fincantieri's Monfalcone yard at an all-in cost of
approximately $700 million. The vessel will be the second
largest Cunarder the company has ever built.
"Cunard already owns and operates the two most
famous ocean liners in the world, Queen Elizabeth 2
and Queen Mary 2, and a third - Queen Victoria - is
due to be named by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, in the
presence of HRH The Prince of Wales, in December of
this year," said Carol Marlow, president of Cunard
Line. "The decision to order another ship for Cunard
Line has been taken as a result of the strong booking
response to the new Queen Victoria, and we are extremely
pleased that Cunard will once again become a three-ship
fleet so soon after the departure of the much-celebrated
Queen Elizabeth 2 in November next year. Furthermore,
we are delighted that Her Majesty The Queen has given
her blessing to our calling this new Cunarder 'Queen
Elizabeth', after our first vessel of that name."
The new ship follows a long line of famous Cunard
liners stretching back to the company's inception as
the first operator of a timetabled transatlantic service
167 years ago. "It is a particularly special moment
for Fincantieri to have secured a second order from
Cunard at a time when we are nearing the completion
of Queen Victoria," said Mr. Giuseppe Bono, Fincantieri's
Chief Executive Officer. "Cunard is the most famous
name in passenger shipping and we are honoured to have
been chosen to build Queen Elizabeth and to continue
the tradition and heritage of that great company."
Queen Elizabeth will offer the very best of Cunard's
values and traditions, blended with every conceivable
modern luxury that today's discerning travellers expect.
Through her opulent public rooms and impeccable service,
the new ship will reflect the grandeur which has been
associated with Cunard ships since the introduction
of the Mauretania in 1907; and from the outside, her
black hull, gleaming white superstructure and distinctive
red funnel will echo the classic characteristics of
the company's distinctive liner heritage. Queen Elizabeth
will fly the Red Ensign with her home-port Southampton,
as is the case with the other ships in the Cunard fleet.

Offered in this issue is the introduction of the new
We Are Cunard blog - an insider's look into the daily
activities, entertainment and life onboard from Queen

Billions of Light-Years Away Aboard Queen Mary 2, with
New Programmes from the American Museum of Natural History's
Acclaimed Hayden Planetarium.
In the only Planetarium at Sea, Two New Shows and New
Plasma-Screen AstroBulletins Engage, Educate and Entertain.
Guests accustomed to
extraordinary voyages aboard the world's most famous
ocean liner won't believe where their next adventure
will take them. Cunard's Queen Mary 2, in partnership
with the American Museum of Natural History's Hayden
Planetarium, introduces two breathtaking new space shows
in the 150-seat Illuminations, the only planetarium
at sea. Using real science and cutting edge technology,
these virtual tours of space are widely considered the
most immersive experiences anywhere. Illuminations
presents a total of four space shows per day, including
the Hayden Planetarium's ground-breaking new productions,
Cosmic Collisions and Passport to the Universe.
"Queen Mary 2's Illuminations
theatre was specifically designed to feature dynamic
multi-media programmes like the unparalleled caliber
produced by the American Museum of Natural History,"
said Carol Marlow, president of Cunard Line.
"These shows are an ideal complement to the range
of educational opportunities within our onboard guest
enrichment programmes as they are both educational and
entertaining."
"We are delighted to be a part of Cunard's
enrichment mission," said Ray Salva, Assistant
Director, Traveling Exhibitions and Planetarium Shows
for the American Museum of Natural History. "AMNH's
planetarium productions are very unique. Created
in conjunction with NASA, each show highlights our dedication
to presenting real science in our space shows. Our scientists
and visualizers use only the most current scientific
data, astrophysical simulations, state-of-the-art computer
models, and vast supercomputing capacity to bring the
wonders of modern astronomy to the public. Presentation
of this content on Queen Mary 2 extends the mission
of our museum, bringing the cutting-edge work being
done at AMNH to new audiences in a venue like no other."
Shows playing on Queen Mary 2 include:
Cosmic Collisions - Narrated by
Robert Redford, it launches passengers on a spine-tingling
trip through space and time to explore the cosmic collisions
and hypersonic impacts that drive the dynamic and continuing
evolution of the universe. Passport
to the Universe - Narrated by Tom Hanks, this
awe-inspiring show reveals the wonders of the universe
in a way never seen before. This Hayden Planetarium
show takes passengers on an exhilarating flight though
the universe and into the Orion Nebula, deep into intergalactic
space. The
Search for Life: Are We Alone? - Narrated by
Harrison Ford, this space show, developed by the AMNH
in collaboration with NASA, delves into the role of
water as one of the necessities for life as we know
it. New AstroBulletins
Broadcast Breaking News Outside of
the entrance to Illuminations, newly installed
plasma screens present the American Museum of Natural
History's pioneering AstroBulletins. Showcasing
the latest developments in the ever-changing field of
astrophysics, these high-resolution large-screen presentations
tap the latest images from NASA satellites and other
observatories. AstroBulletin presentations, ranging
from breaking news and date visualizations to in-depth
feature stories, explore a wide range of topics, including
space weather, the possibility of life on Mars and the
cosmic microwave background.
The Hayden Planetarium shows are just one example
of Cunard's wide range of ground-breaking onboard entertainment
and enrichment programmes. Cunard also has a unique
partnership with London's Royal Academy of Dramatic
Art aboard Queen Mary 2, and the company's onboard
enrichment programmes introduce guests to stimulating
experts and accomplished visionaries who reflect the
line's heritage of adventure and prestige. Through
a series of lectures, Q&A's, debates, social gatherings,
and workshops, guests will connect with personalities
who have achieved notable distinction in areas including
history, world affairs, science, politics, arts and
literature.
From thought-provoking
conversation to the opportunity to sail with like-minded
guests, Cunard has long been the preferred line of travellers
seeking to broaden their intellectual horizons.
Now, with the introduction of Cunard Insights,
the line's newly revisioned enrichment programme, guests
enjoy an even broader range of meaningful, often rare
opportunities to interact with acclaimed experts and
prominent luminaries.
Delving deeply into a variety of compelling and relevant
topics, Cunard Insights introduces guests to
stimulating experts and accomplished visionaries who
reflect the line's heritage of adventure and prestige.
Through a series of lectures, Q&A's, debates, social
gatherings, and workshops, guests connect with personalities
who have achieved notable distinction in areas including
history, world affairs, science, politics, arts and
literature. The new Insights programme
underscores Cunard's longstanding view that enrichment
at sea should transcend mere entertainment to afford
guests a provocative and rewarding cerebral experience.
"For generations,
Cunard has set the standard for onboard enrichment.
As our guests eagerly anticipate and enjoy this aspect
of our voyages, we feel a passionate responsibility
to ensure that our programmes are the most dynamic in
the industry and that the experts and lecturers chosen
are accomplished, engaging and approachable," said
Carol Marlow, president of Cunard Line.
These informal talks grew in popularity and, today,
they comprise an important part of the daytime activity
onboard. Since the launch of Queen Mary 2 in January
2004, more than 250,000 guests have attended presentations,
interviews and lectures.
This experiential offering is so important to Cunard
that a dedicated manager has been assigned to oversee
the selection of more than 500 Cunard Insights
presenters annually. Caroline Mathieson is responsible
for identifying and booking compelling and fascinating
speakers from around the globe to sail aboard Queen
Mary 2. "Cunard Insights is the
next-generation enrichment programme," said Mathieson.
"Essentially, we've taken a great programme
and expanded the offering, making it broader and brighter.
Now, there really is something for everyone."
Looking for "passion, expertise and
personality," Mathieson seeks to introduce Cunard
travelers to numerous Insights speakers on
every voyage through stimulating Q&A's, debates
and workshops. Upcoming notable personalities

Queen Elizabeth 2 - Defining Elegance at Sea -
QE2's Farewell Voyages Cunard
Line has announced a series of special 'Farewell
Voyages' for the most famous ship in the world,
QE2, prior to her completing service in November 2008.
QE2 will begin a new life as a first-class hotel, retail
and entertainment destination at The Palm Jumeirah.
Two
voyages already programmed for 2008 have been replaced
by a British Isles voyage and two Transatlantic
Crossings, while her final voyage to Dubai has also
been added. These special voyages offer the perfect
opportunity for guests to share in QE2's farewell to
her country, where she has long been regarded as the
flagship, and also to experience a farewell tandem crossing
of the Atlantic, where she will bid farewell to New
York, her second home. These voyages also offer
a final opportunity for those who have always wanted
to experience a voyage on this iconic Grand Dame of
the Seas. "These
voyages will signal the eminent completion of QE2's
service in the Cunard fleet and offer the opportunity
to celebrate her widely heralded and illustrious career.
She will make final calls to ports that are home to
many of her most loyal fans, beginning with the British
Isles, followed by two tandem Transatlantic Crossings,"
said Carol Marlow, president and managing director of
Cunard Line. "Guests who sail these voyages
will take their place in history on the longest-serving,
most famous Cunarder and will no doubt be greeted by
groups of well-wishers who will salute her one last
time," added Marlow. Farewell
to the British Isles QE2's Farewell
to the British Isles voyage will depart Southampton
on September 30, 2008 and replaces the previously announced
Canary Islands Splendour voyage. The
10-night voyage will include maiden calls to Dublin
and Belfast and an emotional call to the Clyde (Greenock)
where QE2 was built, as well as calls to Cork (Cobh),
Liverpool (Cunard's ancestral home), Edinburgh (South
Queensferry) and Newcastle. Fares start from
$2,455 for an M6 grade stateroom, up to $5,695 for a
Q1 grade Grand Suite. Final
Transatlantic Crossings On October 10,
QE2 will leave Southampton with Cunard's flagship Queen
Mary 2 and both vessels will depart on a final tandem
crossing to New York. The six-night Final
New York Arrival Crossing will arrive in New York
on October 16 where QE2 will say farewell to what was
her North American home, when she was Queen of the Atlantic
for 34 years. Fares start from $1,175 for an M6
grade stateroom, up to $4,395 for a Q1 grade Grand
Suite. Later
that day both liners will leave New York as QE2 begins
her Farewell to America Crossing. This will
be QE2's 806th and final Atlantic crossing and both
ships will arrive in Southampton on October 22.
Fares start from $1,065 for an M6 grade stateroom, up
to $4,295 for a Q1 grade Grand Suite. These
two Atlantic voyages have replaced a Mediterranean voyage
scheduled to depart on October 12, 2008. QE2's
Final Voyage In addition, Cunard has also
announced QE2's Final Voyage which will leave
Southampton for Dubai on November 11 and will call at
Lisbon, Gibraltar, Civitavecchia, Naples, Malta, Alexandria
and transit the Suez Canal before arriving on November
27. Fares start from $4,615 for a M6 grade stateroom,
up to $11,995 for a Q1 grade Grand Suite. QE2
is likely to attract huge crowds at each port on each
of these voyages and special onboard programming will
be incorporated into these voyages to honor the
completion of QE2's service in the Cunard Fleet. Guests
booked on voyages that are impacted by these changes
will be given the opportunity to rebook on one of the
new voyages. If they book one of the new voyages
replacing their cancelled voyage in the same grade,
their original fare will be protected. If the
fare on the same grade is lower, then the lower fare
will be honored. If a guest decides to book any
other 2008 voyage, the applicable fare for that voyage
will be charged. Rebooked guests will be offered
a $300 onboard credit and those who wish to cancel will
be refunded. Cunard
Line has announced an additional voyage to QE2's 2008
Farewell Season. The company announced in June
that the vessel would leave the fleet in November 2008
and begin a new life as a first-class hotel and entertainment
destination in Dubai. The new eight-day Iberia
in Bloom voyage will depart Southampton on April
27, 2008 and call in France at La Rochelle (for Cognac)
and Le Verdon (for Bordeaux), in Spain at Bilbao and
La Coruna (for Santiago de Compostela) and in Lisbon,
Portugal. Fares start from $1,315 per person for an
inside M6 grade stateroom and range up to $7,795 per
person for a Grand Suite. "The demand
for QE2's 2008 voyages has been phenomenal since we
announced she was leaving the fleet," said Carol
Marlow, president of Cunard Line. "While we still
have space on some sailings next year, the introduction
of this new voyage means we can give people a further
opportunity to experience the most famous ship in the
world before she ceases her role as an ocean-going passenger
vessel."

not only be a classic ocean liner, offering the very
best of Cunard's heritage and traditions, along with
all modern day luxuries, but will also feature many
exciting innovations. These will include the first traditional
West End-style private viewing boxes at sea in the Royal
Court Theatre; the first floating Cunardia museum display,
housing Cunard artifacts and memorabilia and the first
two-story, 'spiral staircased' library at sea. The ship
will also feature the line's celebrated luxury Grills
accommodation and dining, further enhanced on Queen
Victoria with exclusive deck terraces and an al fresco
dining option. From the outside, her distinctive
black and red livery will hint at what differentiates
a Cunard liner from a standard cruise ship. This will
be most evident in the ship's adherence to liner traditions
of the past, with elegant double- and triple-height
public rooms featuring rich wood paneling, intricate
mosaics and gleaming chandeliers. There will also be
a grand, colonial-style Winter Garden complete with
a retractable glass roof.

Tapping a Rich History in Grand
Liner Design Cunard's Queen Victoria Continues a Modern
Era of Style and Sophistication. Striking Double and
Triple Height Public Spaces Reflect a Bygone Elegance
and Grandeur. The 90,000-ton Queen Victoria
will not only be a classic ocean liner, offering the
very best of Cunard's heritage and traditions, along
with all modern day luxuries, but will also feature
many exciting innovations. These will include

adherence to liner traditions of the past, with elegant
double- and triple-height public rooms featuring rich
wood paneling, intricate mosaics and gleaming chandeliers.
There will also be a grand, colonial-style Winter Garden
complete with a retractable glass roof. As
well as being the second largest Cunarder ever built,
Queen Victoria's arrival is particularly noteworthy
as it will mark the first time that three Cunard Queens
have been in service together in the company's 168-year
history. She joins the world's grandest ocean liner,
Queen Mary 2 and the world's most famous ship, QE2.
When the designers of Cunard's newest ocean liner,
Queen Victoria, began to consider the ship's interior
public spaces, they drew upon the well-recorded and
rich history of previous Cunard ocean liners to set
the tone. From the ship's double and triple-height spaces
- a design feature of grand liners of the past - to
rooms imbued with an elegant yet understated British
charm, the overall effect is both contemporary and historically
classic. "This will be a unique ship offering
our guests a glorious taste of grand ocean liner travel
from days gone by, along with every modern convenience.
Even the most experienced travelers will be impressed.
The ship demonstrates such extraordinary attention to
detail, not only in craftsmanship but in the thought
that has gone into exceeding our guests' expectations,"
said Carol Marlow, Cunard's president & managing
director. According to Teresa Anderson, vice
president of Interior Design, "Much of Queen Victoria's
interior design was inspired and carefully planned to
take maximum advantage of the ship's grand spaces. Classical
motifs, along with art deco and nouveau touches blend
in a subtle continuity and add an element of surprise."
Dramatic architecture and design is evident throughout
the ship, with the Grand Lobby serving as a majestic
and powerful focal point. The centre of onboard activity,
it forms the core from which the ship's other public
rooms flow. Beautifully proportioned, the Grand
Lobby's architecture is in keeping with the ambiance
of many of Cunard ocean liners of the past while its
interior design offers the contemporary elegance of
a modern day luxury hotel. The Grand Lobby's dramatic
triple height ceiling, sweeping staircase and sculpted
balconies create an immediate and unmistakable sense
of grandeur and arrival. A signature piece of artwork
anchors the staircase landing, affording a breathtaking
focal point viewable from nearly every part of the Grand
Lobby. An earth tone colour palette of creamy beige,
chestnut brown and gold is carried throughout, from
light mahogany walls and circular hand-woven area rugs
to intricately designed marble floors. Here, guests
will conduct shipboard business at the Purser's Desk,
catch up on email at the computer centre and move easily
to Decks 2 and 3. Moving forward from the Grand
Lobby, guests pass through the Cunardia museum-display,
emerging into the dramatic double-height Queens Room,
a loggia-style venue, reminiscent of a grand ballroom
in a large country house. With ceilings featuring a
pair of gleaming crystal chandeliers and the delicate
use of gold leaf, the room's styling is light and elegant.
Specially commissioned murals - by British artists -
reinforce the line's British heritage, as do the activities
which will take place here, including afternoon tea,
served by white gloved waiters, formal balls with a
live orchestra, the traditional Captain's cocktail parties,
Cunard World Club events and even fencing classes.
Added Teresa Anderson, "This room's cantilevered
balconies overlooking the ballroom are reminiscent of
QE2, detailed with classically-ornate, curved railings.
The dance floor is hand-crafted of inlaid wood, inviting
guests to enjoy the line's grand tradition of elegant
ballroom dancing. The room's ceilings, light maple paneled
walls and warmly backlit stained glass create a feeling
of space and elegance." In contrast is
Hemispheres, an ideal venue for daytime pursuits and
a nightclub which will be open into the early hours.
The most contemporary area on the ship, it is a geometrically
dynamic circular shape that is referenced in design
elements throughout. The room's glamorous design is
evident from the moment of arrival. A backlit perforated
metal sphere encapsulated in decorative glazed screens
serves as both a dramatic focal point and privacy-enhancing
divider wall as guests enter the room. Light mahogany
wood paneling, leather-clad columns, metallic wall surfaces,
executed in shades of dark blue, burgundy and gold,
give the room a modern sensibility. The circular dance
floor is handcrafted wood and is highlighted by a gleaming
chandelier suspended above. Panoramic views through
expansive floor-to-ceiling windows enhance the dramatic
location of this unique venue. The 90,000-ton
Queen Victoria will offer the very best of Cunard's
heritage and traditions, along with all modern day luxuries
including some exciting innovations. These will include
the first traditional West End-style private viewing
boxes at sea in the Royal Court Theatre, the first Cunardia
museum exhibit at sea, housing Cunard artifacts and
memorabilia along with the first two-storey, library
at sea featuring an elegant spiral staircase. The ship
will also feature the line's celebrated Queens Grill
and Princess Grill accommodations and dining, further
enhanced on Queen Victoria with exclusive deck terraces
and an al fresco dining option. From the outside,
her distinctive black and red livery will hint at the
sophistication that differentiates a Cunard liner. This
will be most evident in the ship's adherence to liner
traditions of the past, with elegant public rooms, many
on a grand scale, featuring rich wood paneling, intricate
mosaics and gleaming chandeliers. There will also be
a grand, colonial-style conservatory complete with a
retractable glass roof. As well as being the
second largest Cunarder ever built, Queen Victoria's
arrival is particularly noteworthy as it will mark the
first time that three Cunard Queens have been in service
together in the company's 167-year history (she joins
the world's grandest liner, Queen Mary 2 and the world's
most famous and best-loved liner, QE2). From
Afternoon Tea to Cocktails and Dining, Queen Victoria's
Restaurants and Bars. Showcase Cunard's Singular Grasp
on Tradition and Innovation.
Whether guests
are enjoying tea in the Queens Room, sipping vintage
champagne in the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar or dining
in the Art Deco-inspired elegance of the Britannia Restaurant,
Cunard's singular grasp on tradition and innovation
is captured in Queen Victoria's richly detailed dining
and cocktail venues. "Aboard Queen Victoria,
we are carrying on the grand Cunard tradition of cocktails
and dining as a much-anticipated event," said Carol
Marlow, president of Cunard Line. "As our guests
move through their day, they will have a wide array
of culinary and cocktail venue choices, ranging from
the Commodore Club, the Golden Lion Pub and the Queens
Room to favorites like the Veuve Clicquot Champagne
Bar and Todd English." Wherever guests
find themselves, they will be assured an unparalleled
shipboard experience defined by sumptuous surroundings,
fine dining and Cunard's renowned White Star ServiceSM.
"When she launches this December, Queen Victoria
will carry on a tradition that began nearly 170 years
ago, affording the world's most discerning travelers
with experiences that are unmatched on land or sea,"
added Marlow. Overseeing Queen Victoria's
extensive dining and cocktail venues will be renowned
Executive Chef of Queen Mary 2, Jean-Marie Zimmerman,
who will continue his duties aboard the company's flagship
while supervising Queen Victoria's culinary programme.
Afternoon Tea in the Queens Room - A Cunard
Signature: Cunard's formal ballroom, the Queens
Room on Decks Two and Three, is the setting for one
of the Line's most civilized customs: traditional afternoon
tea served by white-gloved waiters. A variety of musicians,
including a harpist and string quartet, will perform
in the Queens Room on a rotating basis. Reminiscent
of a grand ballroom in a large country house, the dramatic
double-height space features gleaming crystal chandeliers
and specially commissioned murals and intricate leaded
glass by British artists. The Queens Room accommodates
up to 275. Distinctive Venues for Cocktails
and Conversation: Vintage champagne at the Veuve
Clicquot Champagne Bar and classic English ale at the
Golden Lion Pub are just two of the experiences that
await Queen Victoria guests in the ship's dozen or so
bars and lounges. Featuring sweeping views over the
ship's bow, the Commodore Club on Deck 10 captures the
essence of Old World liner elegance. Showcasing murals
of past Cunard liners in custom porthole displays, as
well as two intricate ship models at the entrance, the
room's nautical atmosphere is further highlighted by
wood inlaid flooring with a compass design. Cozy gathering
areas with leather sofas and club chairs encourage guests
to become intimate with the club's extensive martini
menu. Cunard's customary attention to detail is evident
in even the smallest but essential points, including
martinis shaken tableside and served with a selection
of stuffed olives. Hot and cold canapés are served while
live music plays in the background from late afternoon
through early evening, making the club an ideal retreat
for cocktails with an ocean view. The Commodore Club
seats 122. A nautical atmosphere also infuses
the 77-seat Chart Room on Deck Two. This cozy room features
sand-blasted maps with sea views, glass vitrines displaying
ship models and maritime artifacts, and perhaps the
most dramatic element of all: two striking oil painting
portraits by noted maritime artist Robert Lloyd of the
iconic Britannia (first Cunard ship) and Servia (first
steel Cunard ship). A Cunard tradition, the Chart Room
offers a full bar menu and extensive selection of single
malt and blended scotch. Live piano music and jazz sessions
on selected evenings make it a lively choice for maritime
buffs. Named for a former Cunard ship, Café
Carinthia on Deck Two mirrors the style and sophistication
of a traditional French patisserie. An elegant space
highlighted by Art Deco elements in shades of gold,
blue and rich bronze, the café is poised to be a guest
favorite from early morning until well past sun down.
Fresh baked croissants, Danish, muffins and a wide selection
of coffees (including cappuccinos, espressos and lattes)
and premium Wedgwood teas are served. At lunchtime,
the café is an ideal spot for freshly prepared sandwiches
and late afternoon sugar cravings are satisfied with
one of the café's tortes and gateaux. The 59-seat café
also has a full bar. A 1920's Art Deco atmosphere
fills the jewel-box Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar on
Deck Two overlooking the Grand Lobby. An elegant space
sparkling with golden glass elements, the bar serves
Veuve Clicquot Champagne exclusively, alongside a selection
of premium hors d'oeuvres such as smoked salmon and
smoked Barbarie duck. The bar's design elements in shades
of gold, brown and blue form a subtle backdrop for sandblasted
art deco glass "showcase" panels with inset
boxes featuring a variety of champagnes. The bar accommodates
34 guests. For those who appreciate British
customs and Old World rituals, the Golden Lion Pub and
Churchill's Cigar Lounge represent the epitome of tradition.
The 116-seat Golden Lion Pub replicates a traditional
English pub right down to its tabletop blackboard menus
advertising the day's pub fare, including fish and chips
and Shepherd's Pie. Guests enjoy a wide selection of
ales and can keep current on the latest news and sports
on plasma screen televisions in Cunard's signature pub.
A quiet colonial ambiance defines the 11-seat Churchill's,
a wood-paneled cigar lounge adjacent to the Commodore
Club on Deck 10 where a vast selection of cigars and
an array of Armagnac, Cognac, Port, Madeira and Scotch
set a refined and elegant tone. Style and
Service Define the Britannia Restaurant: The
ship's largest dining venue, the Britannia Restaurant
is a strikingly elegant space featuring a soaring double-height
ceiling offset by cornices and intimate groupings of
tables that belie the room's magnificent size. Inspired
by the dining car of the famed Golden Arrow that linked
London to Paris, the restaurant's Art Deco design influences
are captured in its original artwork, wall sconces and
a combination of authentic finishes that include polished
wood, bronze mirror and gold leaf. The room's focal
point - a visually arresting illuminated world globe
- stands 10 feet tall, a sizable yet subtle reference
to Cunard's rich history plying the world's oceans.
Located on Decks Two and Three, Britannia accommodates
guests in staterooms A1 - A7, C1 - C5 and D1 - D8. The
restaurant's extensive menu is offered during two fixed-seating
dinners, as well as breakfast and lunch. Dedicated sommeliers
present full wine lists and bar service and a string
quartet or harpist performs during each first hour of
dining. The room's upper and lower levels accommodate
878 guests. Todd English Restaurant:
Building on the success of the Todd English Restaurant
aboard Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria will also boast
one of the celebrated chef's eponymous restaurants.
An intimate and stylish alternative to guests' primary
experience in one of the ship's main dining rooms, Todd
English affords Queen Victoria guests an opportunity
to experience the cuisine of one of America's leading
chefs in a setting of refined elegance. Waterford crystal,
Wedgwood china, Gainsborough silverware and Hepp cutlery
add the finishing touches to what will be one of the
ship's most sought-after fine dining experiences.
The restaurant will serve the renowned celebrity
chef's signature nouveau Mediterranean cuisine including
such popular dishes as lobster and corn chowder, truffled
potato "Love Letters," ricotta gnocchi and
seared sea bass. A full bar and wine service by dedicated
sommeliers is offered. Seating 87, the restaurant is
open for lunch and dinner at a nominal surcharge ($20
for lunch and $30 for dinner, per person).
Lido Café, A World of Selections Always Available:
The ship's innovation and tradition come together in
the Lido Café, a casual, bright and airy eatery reminiscent
of the iconic QE2. Set against a backdrop of vintage
black and white Cunard imagery, the decor creates a
sophisticated setting for guests to enjoy a wide selection
of buffet stations for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In the evening, the Café elevates the daytime Lido dining
experience with the introduction of two bistro-style
dining venues with reserved seating that will transform
areas of the café into authentic dining from around
the world. Depending on voyage length, these experiential
culinary "journeys" will include fondues from
around the world -- featuring classic Swiss cheese and
Bavarian Beer fondues, as well as newer fondues such
as firepots, broth and Chinoise fondues; Indian cuisine
-- including a selection of curries, naan bread and
parathas, Asian Fusion fare and Italian. The Lido Café
seats 468 guests and is open 24 hours a day.
The Grills - The Apex of Dining at Sea: Nowhere
is Cunard's preeminence more evident than in the storied

accommodations. Located on Deck 11, the Grills share
the concierge-staffed Grills Lounge, as well as the
exquisite Grills courtyard for al fresco dining and

these are among the hallmarks of the Cunard Grills.
An exclusive world virtually unknown to all but the

Grills represent the pinnacle of seagoing service, luxurious
accommodations and comfort. Now, in the grand
Cunard tradition, Queen Victoria is poised to put her
own stamp on the Cunard Grills, affording travelers
the opportunity to experience the storied Golden
Age of Ocean Travel in the same memorable way that
royalty, heads of state and celebrities have done for
generations. When
she enters service in December 2007, Queen Victoria
will usher in a new era of Cunard innovation while showcasing
the distinctive features that make a Cunard vessel the
world standard-bearer. Nowhere is this more evident
than in the renowned Queens Grill and Princess Grill,
the pair of exclusive dining rooms and their corresponding
Grill-category accommodations. Located on Deck
11, the Grills share the concierge-staffed private Grills
Lounge, as well as the exquisite Grills Courtyard for
al fresco dining and afternoon tea, and exclusive Grills
Upper Terrace (on Deck 12), where White Star staff will
provide cool towels, Evian spritzes, fresh fruit, sorbets
and tea sandwiches to sun-seeking guests. Among
the Grills' most distinguishing features is its more
private location. Access is by private elevator
and the Grills themselves are enclosed by gently curving
panoramic glass walls on the seaboard side and cantilevered
above Deck 10 over the side of the ship. "Aboard
our newest ship, we are taking our historic Cunard Grills
experience to the next level," said Carol Marlow,
president of Cunard Line. "Whether a traveler
seeks a once-in-a-lifetime adventure steeped in luxury
or is a longtime guest who has become accustomed to
our Cunard ways, the experience aboard Queen Victoria
will 'wow' them with its range of services, amenities
and anticipatory White StarSM Service." Distinguished
Grill Dining Within the Queens Grill and
Princess Grill, guests enjoy plush ambiance and single-seating
dining that rival the finest restaurants in the world.
Cunard has long been regarded as a culinary leader and
nowhere is its supremacy more apparent than in the Grills.
A combination of art deco and classic design distinguish
the exclusive 132-seat Princess Grill and142-seat Queens
Grill restaurants. With a color palette of cream,
gold and blue in the Queens Grill and gold, green and
coral in the Princess Grill, the overall Grills aesthetic
is an exquisite balance of rich wood-paneled walls in
muted shades of cream and brown, bronze mirrors, and
pale cream-colored ceilings, accented with faux gold
paneled moldings around backlit coves. During
the day, the entire length of the dining rooms is illuminated
with natural light emanating from floor-to-ceiling windows,
creating spectacular views of the seas below.
At night, the rooms take on a dramatic ethereal quality
bathed with soft lighting from decorative glass up-lights
creating a golden glow around the room. The finest
Wedgwood bone china, Waterford crystal, sterling silverware
and Fili d'Oro Italian premium linens complete the scene,
creating an elegant and timeless atmosphere.
The Grills offer extensive menus dedicated to the day's
diverse specialties and much loved a la carte favorites
such as Lobster Thermidor, Dover sole, and Chateaubriand.
In the Queens Grill, the menu functions merely as a
guide because, in grand Cunard tradition, the staff
takes pleasure in accommodating any request, on or off
the menu, if available. There is a special
atmosphere every evening within the Grills, where nights
begin in the exclusive of the Grills Lounge with pre-dinner
cocktails and canapés striking just the right relaxing
note. Overseeing everything from tableside flambé
to the smooth operation of each Grill is a dedicated
senior maitre d'hotel and sommelier who offers expertise
and access to the ship's wine cellar. Grill
guests who prefer to dine in the fresh sea air may book
a table in the Grills Courtyard, an intimate Tuscan-inspired
space featuring seating for 40 on a first-come, first-served
basis. The Courtyard also offers pre- and post-dinner
cocktails and afternoon tea. In addition, Grill
guests may arrange private cocktail parties and special
occasion dinners for small groups in the Courtyard. In
the Grills Lounge, guests enjoy traditional afternoon
tea, full bar service, pre- and post-dinner cocktails
and drinks with petite after-dessert offerings accompanied

elegant public rooms, many on a grand scale, featuring
rich wood paneling, intricate mosaics and gleaming chandeliers.
There will also be a grand, colonial-style conservatory
